Unity – Beauty In Everything

Unity's Beauty In Everything

Today’s project is a graduation card featuring this delightful image from Unity’s Beauty In Everything set.  The sentiment is from another Unity set, Capture Your Dreams.  The frame behind the main image was die-cut from Spellbinders A2 Devine Elequence Frame Card Creator set, #S5-218.

My usual go-to coloring medium is Copic markers, but I recently purchased the Chameleon Colored Pencils, and I used them to color this image along with some odorless Gamsol to blend out the colors.

For the dress, I used 13-01 Cobalt Blue, 13-02 Midnight Blue, and 14-02 Electric Blue. 04-02 Spice was used for the hair and 06-02 Light Coral for the skin. The sky was colored with 15-01 Powder Blue and 15-02 Wedgewood Blue although the colors don’t show up very well in this photo.

The side of the plateau was colored with 04-02 Spice, 05-01 Mocha, and a little 24-02 Cool Gray for shading. I went really crazy with the grassy areas and used 19-02 Clover, 20-01 Cactus Green, 20-02 Summer Leaf, 18-02 Jade, and 17-02 Pine with a little 04-02 Spice thrown in for good measure!

I didn’t have a smaller die to match the Devine Eloquence Frame, so I simply turned my colored image over and traced the center portion of the frame die with pencil then cut it out by hand.

Salty Ocean Distress Ink was used to highlight the edges of this piece–and to disguise my cutting imperfections! LOL

As you can see, I opted to go with a more simple design for the inside of the card.

I cut the Neat and Tangled Scalloped Cover Plate from black card stock then backed it with a piece of patterned paper, adhering this panel with foam squares to another piece of patterned paper. The two sentiments were stamped on Gina K. Designs Pure Luxury Base Weight White Card Stock and matted on black card stock.  Color was added with Salty Ocean Distress Ink . . .

Grad Inside

I just love this sentiment stamp, Life was meant for a great Adventure from Stampers Anonymous. I think it would work equally well for someone starting a new job, retiring, or even as a wedding sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project – make it a crafty week everyone!
