Silent Night, Holy Night

Silent Night

As we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the approaching holidays, we don’t always have the time for handmade cards that we would like.  Here is a great card that is easy to make and still looks like you spent a lot of time creating it.

This card features papers from two Heartfelt Creations collections, Snow Kissed and Festive Holly as well as a few holly sprigs die-cut from black card stock.  Inside there is another section of Festive Holly paper, the cardinals from the Holly Berry Jingle stamp set, more holly sprigs and a stamped sentiment.

Silent Night Inside

The cardinal image was colored with Copic Markers. R05, R17, R35, R37, R59, and Y17 for the cardinals; R17 and R39 for the berries; YG61 and YG63 for the leaves, and E37 for the branches.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project and will give it a try for yourself!

Christmas Cardinals, Bells, and Lanterns

What could be more reminiscent of home than the brilliant red of a cardinal against the crisp white background of newly fallen snow or the sight of a Christmas lantern lighting the way as the gentle sounds of Christmas bells fill the air?

At least, that’s what I was thinking as I created this next card . . .

Cardinals Bells Lantern

With papers, stamps, and dies from the Heartfelt Creations Festive Holly collection, I was able to create exactly what I was envisioning in no time at all!

I took one of the sheets from the Festive Holly paper pack and cut it down to 5.75″ x 5.75″ then adhered it to a 6″ x 6″ card base.  The lantern, cardinal, and holly were stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers then cut out with the matching dies.

Copic Markers Used: Lampost – C3, C5, C7, C9. Flame – Y06, Y17, Y21, YR20. Candle – Y21. Leaves – YG61, YG63. Berries – R17, R39. Branch – E37. Cardinal – R35, R37, R39, Y17.

I used another piece of patterned paper inside the card as well as one of the larger tags:

Lawn Fawn Lemonade Shaker Card

Lawn Fawn Lemonade Shaker Card

This fun little shaker card features the Lawn Fawn “Make Lemonade” stamp set.

Also used on this card were My Favorites Things die set Blueprint 27, the sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Happy Summer” stamp set, and Impression Obsession’s Beach Chair die.

Summer wouldn’t be complete without a tall glass of cold lemonade or the sweet sound of bees buzzing on a sunny day, so of course, I couldn’t resist adding the bee stamp from Denami Designs, #D79 Curly Bee.

Here’s a look at the inside and back of the card:

The images were colored with the following Copic Markers – Bee: Y17, B41 / Pitcher: Y06, Y08, Y11, Y13, B41 / Glass: Y06, Y08, Y11, Y13, B41 / Lemon: Y06, Y11, Y13

This was a super quick and easy project to put together, and I highly recommend you give it a try for yourself!

Reel Great Guys Birthday Slider Card

Reel Great Guy slider card

Today’s project is a slider card.  The main image is from Art Impressions Reel Great Guys stamp set and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Markers.

I masked the boat and fishermen and stamped the Stampscapes Pine Row 150E in the background several times with Memento Northern Pines ink.  I used Copic Markers G24 and G29 to fill in the areas that didn’t stamp.

The die-cuts around the image panel were cut from black card stock with the C.C. Designs Leafy Branch dies that I have had forever and use all the time.  (Sorry – I think these dies are discontinued now.)

The die to make the slider opening is from Lawn Fawn’s Slide On Over set.  (I saved the piece that was cut out to put behind the opening so the background in that area would match the rest of the image when the fish is slid up and down.)

The main image panel was matted on black card stock then adhered to pieces of foam to make room for the slider mechanism.  Under this is a piece of watercolor paper that was colored with Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks.  (I applied the inks to a craft sheet, spritzed with water, then pressed and twisted the watercolor paper through the inks until covered.)

Copic Markers used on main image:

Fisherman on left . . . Vest: FYG1, FYG2, YG13, YG06.  Hat: R14, R17, R27.  Shirt: B21, B23, B26. Fishing Pole: E33, E07. Hair: E19.

Fisherman on right . . . Vest: B63, B66, B69. Hat: YG23, G24. Shirt: B60, B63, B24. Hair: E19, W7, Colorless Blender 0.  Fishing Pole: E07.  Bobber: R14, R27.

Skin – both fisherman: E000, E00, E02, R02, R23, BV00.

Boat: E33, E35, E39.  Water: B91, B93, B95, B97.  Sky: B000, B00, B01.  Tree reflections in water: G28. A white gel pen was also used to add highlights to the water.

The fish is from the Simon Says Stamp Father’s Day Finds stamp set and was colored with FYG01, FYG02, YG01, YG23, Y02, B06, BG49, and BG78.  I added dots of BG18 to the face and tail fin and G29 to the body to create interest/texture.

Here is a view of the inside of the card:

Both of the sentiments are from the Art Impressions Reel Great Guys stamp set and were cut out with a couple of Spellbinders dies.  The background piece was again colored with Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks, but this time I applied them directly to the watercolor paper with a foam applicator and then lightly spritzed with water.  The bubbles were added with Echo Park’s Bubbles Stencil and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.  Then I used another Echo Park stencil and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide to add some fish to the background.  The following Memory Box dies were cut from black card stock: 99747 Family of Fish, 99745 Ocean Critters, and the “seaweed” and ocean plants at the bottom were actually created with Memory Box die 99461 Wildflower Landscape!

And let’s not forget the back of the card:

I cut out Memory Box 99461 Wildflower Landscapes and 99463 Deep Sea Corner from black card stock and adhered them to patterned paper.  The “Birthday Fishes” sentiment is from the AI Reel Great Guys set and the fishing pole and fishing line with hook and bobber are from the Simon Says Stamp Father’s Day Finds.

Well, that’s it for today – hope you liked the project and thanks for visiting!

Tropical Paradise Birthday

front-closed.jpg

Since I haven’t posted in awhile, I thought I would do another quick post today.

This is a birthday card I made using the Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise papers, stamps, and dies.  Love the colors and images of this set!

Although the flowers on the front were actually made with stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose Collection, I did stamp them on paper from the Tropical Paradise collection and shaded with Memento inks.

Here is the back of the card when closed:

The card base is a Heartfelt Creations 5″ x 7″ white foldout card.   Below is the inside and outside with the card fully open:

And here are some closeups of the individual panels:

The parrot and cockatoo were colored with Copic markers.  I didn’t like how the back of the cockatoo appeared from the backside, so I added a die-cut circle to represent the sun and colored both sides with Memento Cantaloupe ink and Kaleidacolor Desert Heat ink pad.  (And added a die-cut dragonfly so the back side wouldn’t look so plain!)

Other products used on the card include Memory Box dies: 99229 Garland Greenery, 99751 Little Dragonflies, and 99461 Wildflower Landscape; Sizzix 656515 Dragonfly; and Elizabeth Craft Designs dies: Leafy Branch 5, Pair of Leaves 1, and Celebrate.

Thanks for visiting – have a great rest of the holiday weekend everyone!

Stamping Bella Snowman Globe

snowman-globe

I love this stamp from Stamping Bella: Merry Everything, #EB325.  It is great for Christmas or any winter celebration.  The image was colored with Copic markers – for the most part, I followed the Colormap that comes free with the purchase of the stamp . . .

Penguins: C6, C9, 100, B0000, BV00, E30, Y21, Y38, YR23

Mittens and Hats: BV02, BV04, BV08, RV52, RV55, RV66

Shading on Snowman: BV00

Carrot Nose: YR15, YR68, YR27

Snowglobe: BG000, BG10, BG11, C1, C2

Snowglobe Base: Y21, Y26, Y28

Ground: E31, E35, E57

The 5″ x 7″ card base was made from Gina K. Designs Blue Denim card stock.  I adhered a 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ piece of patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs Frosty Friends collection to the base, then I cut the background frame out of black card stock with Spellbinders Card Creator A2 Devine Eloquence die, #S5-218. I used a slightly smaller Spellbinders Labels 28 die to cut out the image and inked the edges with Wilted Violet Distress Ink.  I adhered the image to the frame then adhered this entire piece to the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project–make it a crafty week everyone!
