Reel Great Guys Birthday Slider Card

Reel Great Guy slider card

Today’s project is a slider card.  The main image is from Art Impressions Reel Great Guys stamp set and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Markers.

I masked the boat and fishermen and stamped the Stampscapes Pine Row 150E in the background several times with Memento Northern Pines ink.  I used Copic Markers G24 and G29 to fill in the areas that didn’t stamp.

The die-cuts around the image panel were cut from black card stock with the C.C. Designs Leafy Branch dies that I have had forever and use all the time.  (Sorry – I think these dies are discontinued now.)

The die to make the slider opening is from Lawn Fawn’s Slide On Over set.  (I saved the piece that was cut out to put behind the opening so the background in that area would match the rest of the image when the fish is slid up and down.)

The main image panel was matted on black card stock then adhered to pieces of foam to make room for the slider mechanism.  Under this is a piece of watercolor paper that was colored with Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks.  (I applied the inks to a craft sheet, spritzed with water, then pressed and twisted the watercolor paper through the inks until covered.)

Copic Markers used on main image:

Fisherman on left . . . Vest: FYG1, FYG2, YG13, YG06.  Hat: R14, R17, R27.  Shirt: B21, B23, B26. Fishing Pole: E33, E07. Hair: E19.

Fisherman on right . . . Vest: B63, B66, B69. Hat: YG23, G24. Shirt: B60, B63, B24. Hair: E19, W7, Colorless Blender 0.  Fishing Pole: E07.  Bobber: R14, R27.

Skin – both fisherman: E000, E00, E02, R02, R23, BV00.

Boat: E33, E35, E39.  Water: B91, B93, B95, B97.  Sky: B000, B00, B01.  Tree reflections in water: G28. A white gel pen was also used to add highlights to the water.

The fish is from the Simon Says Stamp Father’s Day Finds stamp set and was colored with FYG01, FYG02, YG01, YG23, Y02, B06, BG49, and BG78.  I added dots of BG18 to the face and tail fin and G29 to the body to create interest/texture.

Here is a view of the inside of the card:

Both of the sentiments are from the Art Impressions Reel Great Guys stamp set and were cut out with a couple of Spellbinders dies.  The background piece was again colored with Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks, but this time I applied them directly to the watercolor paper with a foam applicator and then lightly spritzed with water.  The bubbles were added with Echo Park’s Bubbles Stencil and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.  Then I used another Echo Park stencil and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide to add some fish to the background.  The following Memory Box dies were cut from black card stock: 99747 Family of Fish, 99745 Ocean Critters, and the “seaweed” and ocean plants at the bottom were actually created with Memory Box die 99461 Wildflower Landscape!

And let’s not forget the back of the card:

I cut out Memory Box 99461 Wildflower Landscapes and 99463 Deep Sea Corner from black card stock and adhered them to patterned paper.  The “Birthday Fishes” sentiment is from the AI Reel Great Guys set and the fishing pole and fishing line with hook and bobber are from the Simon Says Stamp Father’s Day Finds.

Well, that’s it for today – hope you liked the project and thanks for visiting!

Tropical Skies Birthday Card

Tropical Window Card.JPG

Here is another fun window card using Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Frames 1 – Lace Rectangles #1061 to create the window frame.

The main image features stamps from the Gina K. Designs stamp set Framescape – Tropical Skies by Theresa Momber.  I stamped the sun with Colorbox Canary and Caliente Pigment ink, then masked it to color in the sky with Colorbox Canary, Caliente, and Scarlet pigment inks and the water with Stampabilities Baby Blue and Royal Blue pigment inks and Colorbox Ocean pigment ink. I removed the mask and blended a little Colorbox Ocean ink into the sun’s reflection and also added Copic markers B95 and B97 at the horizon line.

The bird and trees were stamped with Stampin’ Up Basic Black and Wink of Stella was used to add a little glimmer to the water and sky.

I used Heartfelt Creations Wildwood Florals stamps and dies to create the flowers then colored them with Colorbox Canary and Scarlet pigment inks and added a dusting of fine glitter to make them sparkle.

I created additional embellishments with various dies, including Memory Box 99722 Cheerful Crabs, 99229 Garland Greenery, and 99386 Tiny Turtles.  I also used both Lawn Fawn and Impression Obsession Palm Tree dies.  Finally, the vine at the top of the frame was created with one of the Heartfelt Creations Delicate Border dies (#HCD1-7118).

All of the patterned paper is from Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Paper Collection.

The inside of the card features more dies from Memory Box, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Lawn Fawn, and Reverse Confetti as well as another stamped image from the Gina K. Designs Framescape Tropical Skies set.

Tropical Window Card Back

A plain backside just didn’t seem right, so I created a little scene with Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise paper and a few stickers and die cuts.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a fun, crafty week!

Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Window Card

Tropical Paradise Window Card

This fun birthday card was made almost entirely from the Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Paper Collection – everything from the main card image to the vine and even the palm tree tops were cut from this paper. I have to say, I do LOVE the colors and imagery contained in this paper collection!

The flowers were stamped with the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms set HCPC-3608 onto white cardstock and colored with Memento Lilac Posies & Danube Blue inks then cut out with the Arianna Blooms dies HCD1-748.

The leaves behind the flowers were cut from the Tropical Paradise paper with Elizabeth Craft Designs Pair of Leaves 1 #1314. The Celebrate die (#1286) is also from Elizabeth Craft Designs and was cut out of black cardstock.

The vine at the top of the card was cut with the Heartfelt Creations Delicate Border Dies HCD1-7118. This versatile die set is one that I have been using a lot lately!

The palm trees are from Lawn Fawn’s Palm Trees die set.  (This set also comes with a very cute crab die, by the way, that wasn’t used here.) As mentioned before, the tree tops were cut from the Tropical Paradise paper and the trunks and coconuts were cut from Stampin’ Up Kraft paper then colored with Copic Markers E23 and E18.

It is hard to tell from the photo, but I added dimension to the window frame by cutting four 1″ x 4″ pieces of black cardstock, scoring and folding them in half to form four 1/2″ x 4″ pieces, and then gluing two on each side.  I saw this great tip demonstrated on a blog a few months ago and was pleased at how well it worked!

As you can see below, I continued the Tropical Paradise theme on the envelope as well:

Tropical Paradise Envelope

The flamingo on the left was stamped with the Tropical Paradise stamp set  HCPC-3783 and cut out with the matching die HCD1-7137.

The tag on the right, like the main card image, was cut directly from the paper pad, making this card and envelope a surprisingly quick and easy project to put together.

Thanks for visiting – I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
