The main focal image of this card is from the Inkadinkado stamp set Horses Mustang #99540. This is a great stamp set with a lot of fun horse images. The sentiment is from the Hot Off The Press stamp set Feathers. The eagle and grass stamps are from Stampscapes while the mountains in the background are from the Stampin’ Up set Waterfront.
The background was created with Ranger Buttercup and Sunflower Archival inks, Colorbox Canary and Caliento pigment inks, Colorbox Lipstick Red and Dark Brown chalk inks, and Memento Morocco, Tangelo, and Toffee Crunch inks.
Additional color was added to the horse with Copic markers E37 and E18, YG63 for the grass, and W3, W4 and W10 for the clouds and shadows. Highlights were added to the horse’s nose and legs with a white gel pen.
The inside features another horse image from the Inkadinkado stamp set and two sentiment stamps from Reverse Confetti’s Boho Vibes. I repeated the same color and ink combinations for the background and once again colored the horse with Copic markers E37 and E18 and the grass with Copic marker YG63.
The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio’s Cheyenne paper pack.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and have a fun, crafty week!
Today’s project was a sympathy card I made recently for a co-worker featuring the paper and a couple of flowers from Heartfelt Creations Lush Lilac Collection:
The flowers were stamped in Wilted Violet and colored with Faded Lilac Distress Inks. I used the flower shaping mold from the Lush Lilac collection to make shaping the flowers quick and easy. One of the stamens now available on the Heartfelt Creations site was glued inside of each flower for added interest.
I also added a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Heartfelt Sympathy set and some die-cut branches from Impression Obsession’s Foliage die set #DIE334-Y.
But the real star of this show is the paper from this collection. Even without any additional embellishments, it would make a stunning statement on its own.
The inside of the card features more paper from the Lush Lilac Collection as well as a sentiment from the Sympathy Sentiments set by My Sentiment Exactly:
This card came together very quickly, but still shows the recipient they are being thought of during their time of sorrow.
I wish you all a happy and crafty week!
I find making Sympathy cards can be especially tough because of the emotions you are experiencing at this time, and yet the level of personalization you can achieve with a handmade card simply can’t be matched by the normal offerings found in most stores.
The main image on the front of today’s card is Country Landscape by Magenta. The text stamps and inside tree image are from the Stampin’ Up sets Heartfelt Sympathy and In The Meadow. The bird and deer silhouette images inside the card are from Penny Black’s Nature’s Friends set.
I sponged on the following Stampin’ Up inks to color the background on the front image: Marina Mist, Pool Party, Pacific Point, Dapper Denim, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzaz, and Old Olive. All images and text were stamped with Stampin’ Up’s Basic Black. (My Misti stamping tool made stamping the images a breeze!)
Inside of Card
Sympathy cards can be challenging emotionally, but will surely bring great comfort to the recipient.
This card features the Art Impressions mini watercolor stamp set Watering Can, #4761 as well as stamps from the watercolor Foliage Set 1, #4051. The images were colored with Marvy Le Plume II markers: #86 African Violet, #20 Magenta, #50 Ultramarine, #15 Olive Green, and #72 Pine Green.
The image was cut out with a Spellbinders Large Classic Oval die and matted onto black card stock that had been cut out with the Spellbinders Floral Oval die. The background paper (from the Stampin’ Up Bohemian paper collection) was adhered to a 4.25″ x 5.50″ card blank made from Gina K. Designs In The Navy paper.
Hope you enjoyed today’s design. Have a creative week!
This card features the Small Crock (#E-14) from Stamps by Judith and several foliage and flower watercolor stamps from Art Impressions.
I used Marvy LePlume II markers to color the images, including Sepia (#45), African Violet (#86), Violet (#8), Magenta (#20), Olive Green (#15), Pine Green (#72), Blue Gray (#41), Sapphire (#100), and English Red (#28).
The patterned paper is from the Stampin’ Up Botanical Blooms collection.
Hope you enjoyed today’s project!
Recently I had the sad task of creating a sympathy card for a co-worker’s mom. All of the patterned paper and the main focal image on the front of the card is from the Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Paper Collection. This paper collection features some wonderful images of flowers surrounded by backgrounds of deep blues, greens, and peach colors.
The inside sentiments are from the Stampin’ Up Heartfelt Sympathy photopolymer set.
